contemporary art jewelry
Keiko Fujita sees jewelry as an art form to decorate the body. She has developed her own brand of contemporary jewelry where she explores the possibilities of transforming existing materials into wearable art. Her jewelry line 'dodo' is airy and elegant, made out of plastic tag pins.
What makes Keiko's contemporary jewelry unique is her use of materials from the dairy industry. Her jewelry transcends the gap between the perception of the materials used to create modern, beautiful pieces.
Her works would be most appreciated by the customers who value them as a piece of art, their vivid colors or their symmetric/asymmetric forms, but also by those who are sensitive about today’s environmental themes such as sustainable materials.
All 'dodo' items are hand made by our atelier staff. We cannot manufacture these items which require delicate techniques to produce.
'dodo', contemporary jewelry series, is made with plastic tag pins. The look is like a unit of sensitive threads and leaves. The pieces are airy, light and comfortable to put on. All handmade and creates an original aesthetic sense.
'dodo HAKU' is an elegant and sophisticated jewelry line using gold and platinum leaves made in Kanazawa, Ishikawa, Japan where 99% of all gold leaf in Japan is produced. Kanazawa has a long history of gold leaf production, and we can get a touch of this traditional essence in our daily lives through these pieces.
